Gainwell Technologies is the largest Medicaid technology contractor in the country — a Tysons, Virginia company with 7,500+ employees serving health programs across more than 40 states, owned by private-equity firm Veritas Capital since it was carved out of DXC Technology in a $5 billion deal in October 2020.

Gainwell is Delaware's Medicaid fiscal agent: it runs the claims system, enrolls providers, and — crucially — issues the payments. That's why the number on this page is so enormous: most of these dollars are Medicaid claim payments flowing through Gainwell to hospitals, doctors and pharmacies, not fees Gainwell keeps.
